Description of Beds: Miss Windermere sleeps 3 in maximum comfort. There is a fixed double bed which is bigger than a traditional double as it’s 1400mm wide and 1900mm long (totally bespoke), this features and memory foam mattress for a truly amazing night’s sleep with no compromise. The seating area then slides out into a child’s bed (600mm wide x 1800mm long), perfect for a child up to 12/14 years old.

Description of Seating: Miss Windermere is designed for a small family to live in maximum luxury, she carries 3 people with all travelling seats in the van cab all with seatbelts.

Electrical Setup: Miss Windermere is fully off-grid with no compromises.

She has 480w of solar panels on the roof, and 500AH of batteries, as you drive this also charges the batteries back up. She even has her very own hair dryer outlet built into the heating system. There are 6 USB ports in the van and 3 double 240v sockets. In addition to her off-grid set-up, you can also hook her up to the grid on campsites.

About the Area: Miss Windermere lives exactly 1h:10min away from the heart of the lake district (lake Windermere), from there you can explore the whole lake district in its full beauty. Also the 1h:10min right into the heart of the peak district/Yorkshire dales. Just south of where Miss Windermere is based is beautiful Wales, Snowdonia National Park is just a 2h:30min drive. Lastly, we are around 4h drive into the open wilderness of Scotland, from there you could explore the Trossachs national park, and the Cairngorms national park or really go wild and travel around the north coast of Route 500.

Parking: If you plan on driving your car to collect Miss Windermere we can offer you a secure parking space for the full duration of your trip at no extra cost. Alternatively, if you travel by train to Preston station we can collect you in person, again totally complimentary in your hire cost.

Cooking Equipment: Miss Windermere has a fully equipped kitchen, from pots/pans/kettle to plates and crockery, sharp knives and even salt and pepper grinders. There is also a water filter to use for drinking water from the freshwater tanks. We even included a doggy bowl if you bring your pooch. We have also provided all cleaning equipment for the van, surface cleaner/washing up liquid/kitchen roll and clothes.

Water and Sanitation: There is a 60L fresh water tank situated underneath Miss Windermere which is usually enough for 2-3 days, this can then be easily filled up at any hose outlet point or even petrol stations from the outside inlet point of the van. The water system has a pump which automatically kicks in when you use the taps/shower and is fitted with a filter system to clean water. She has a large wet room featuring a power shower and composting toilet. The shower is heated via the combi boiler and stores 30 litres of hot water. The toilet separates number 1s and number 2s, number 1s go straight into the wastewater tank underneath Miss Windermere and the solids stay in the toilet with a built-in fan to extract all smells. Don't worry you can bring her back and we will empty the solids into our composting facility.

Heating: Heating is via the onboard combi boiler which is supplied by a 40l LPG tank underneath the van (this gas lasts months) and also can be electrically supplied when on hook up.
