Description

About the area: Freyja is parked in a quiet residential cul-de-sac, located just one mile from the end of the M55, two miles from Blackpool promenade and all the visitor attractions, and 4 miles away from the picturesque town of Lytham. A short drive away also brings you to Trough of Bowland which is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and close to the beautiful, picturesque Beacon Fell and Brock Bottom.

Description of Beds: The campervan sleeps 2 but due to the custom design of the bed frame the top end is wider than the bottom. The bed is 40” wide at the top 27” wide at the bottom and 71” long, a cosy bed is for couples who don’t mind snuggling! You also need to use a little foot stool to climb onto the bed so may be a challenge for anyone with mobility issues. There is an option for a small child to sleep in the seating area with a portable bed rail to stop them falling out. (23” x 45”) Please measure ahead of time to ensure a comfortable fit.

Description of Seating: There are 3 belted seats with headrests in the front but only space for 2 people in the back and a small child. The van does not have isofix fittings. There is a seating area in the back for 2 people and a fold out stool that can be propped against the work surface to either eat or work from.

Description of Electrical Setup: If the van is on electrical hook-up, there are two plug sockets behind the cooker that can be used to plug things in. There are three separate double USB charging points around the back of the van and a cigarette USB charger that goes in the front. There are 2 x 110 ah leisure batteries that are hooked up to a split relay and a solar panel system to give you a few days off grid. If there is no sun to charge the solar panels then this will reduce the amount of days you could spend off grid. There is a 240v inverter and electrical hook up.

Parking: There is street parking available outside the house where you pick-up the van. For those coming by train, meeting at the station can be organised subject to prior arrangement, as long as the owner can be dropped back off at home at the pick-up point, which is on the main route out of Blackpool.

Cooking Equipment: There’s plenty of equipment for cooking up full meals including pans, pots and cutlery and a small filter coffee pot. In addition to the two gas hobs inside, there is a single portable gas stove that you can use to cook outside for alfresco dining. Freyja also comes with 2 mugs, 2 cups and 2 bowls, 2 plates, cutlery for 2, a chopping board, a kettle, large frying pan, large and small saucepan. There are 2 cooking spoons, a masher, 2 wooden spoons, 1 sharp knife, a tin opener, corkscrew/bottle opener, colander, and a small dustpan and brush.

Water and Sanitation: There is an indoor shower and the water is heated via the electrical system. The toilet and shower are in a dedicated space, off the main living area. There is no drinking water inside the van. The water and waste water tanks are located underneath the van with taps for both on the side. There is a 50 L water capacity which provides the water for the shower, the toilet and the sink. There is a water pump at the back of the van which feeds the water through the system.

Audio Equipment: There is an audio system in the front which you can connect to with your phone via Bluetooth.

Type of Heating: Freyja has a gas heater installed and an extra fan heater. The main fan heating blows air into the main cabin and also into the shower compartment which can double up as a dry room. The fan heater can only be used when the van is on electric hook-up.

Pet Information: Freyja is pet friendly and can take one dog of any size or two smaller dogs, unfortunately cats aren’t accepted.

About the Owner: This is my third Van that I have put up on Quirky campers. The first two vans were hired out during 2021 and 2022 and I had a very positive experience with this, although I never quite got to scratch the Vanlife itch myself! So in April 2023, I sold my house and bought this campervan and headed off on my vanlife adventure. I headed to Scotland and drove all around Skye and Highlands, then to East Anglia and travelled all around Norfolk. In September, I took the van and drove to Portugal where we stayed on an eco-campsite in the Algarve for 10 weeks. I pretty much lived in Van for seven months and had the most amazing time.
