You can heat the kettle on either the woodburning stove or the gas hob for hot water. You can add an outdoor toilet and toilet tent on to the extras when booking.
Audio Equipment: Blackberry has an integrated touch-screen Kenwood sound system and display which supports apple car play via USB or bluetooth.
Type of Heating: The “Windy Smithy” wood burning stove is at the heart of the van and keeps Blackberry and her contents very toasty on even the coldest winter night. Some logs are provided as is an axe shovel and heat proof glove. The burner also comes in handy as an addition to the kitchen space.
Extra Information: A very colourful bespoke awning hooks onto the roof via x3 carabinas and then is held up by two wooden poles and guide ropes. This takes about 5 minutes to put up.The van also comes equipped with 4 outdoor chairs and a fold out table. You can add these on the extras when booking.
Conversion Story: We are Floss and Mags and we love our Blackberry camper. Blackberry began life as a panel van. We bought her in 2017 and did the full conversation. Initially converted for a summer road trip around Europe with our teenage children, we have had great times with her and made several upgrades along the way. Assisted by experienced carpenters and boat builders we have honed our design with additions such as a bluetooth sound system, a reversing camera and sat nav, plus finding a home for Blackberry’s guitar and a wood burner, both of which have contributed to some great cosy winter trips, Christmas with the family and epic trips up to the highlands. It is fully insulated with hard foam which not only regulates the temperature brilliantly but also keeps things quiet. The unique seating arrangement allows for multiple configurations creating a sofa, another eating area and an extension to the kitchen. Passengers also have a nice high seating position so they get their share of the view and the action. We recently gave Blackberry the distinctive interior painted finish, stealth on the outside but Frida Khalo/ juicy fruits vibes on the inside. To top it off an old friend made us the amazing awning which is a great new addition. We have had so much family fun camping in her with all the many different configurations to play with, she’s like a transformer. We hope you have as much fun in her as we have, playing games and singing songs along the way!
