Winchelsea Sands Holiday Park

Stayed here recently, accommodation was lovely however, entertainment was shocking. Arcades need a complete refurb, was no items in the machines for kids, no kids entertainment for the period we was there. Pool sessions are booked which is fine however we were asked to get out after only being in there 5 minutes. Male staff member/lifeguard was so rude and easily could’ve let us join the next session since we wasn’t aware how long the previous session had left and there was only 4 people on the next session. The park is boring and not very good for young families.

A lovely quiet park with beaches nearby. Staff couldn't of been more helpful in reception and bar. Spacious and well equipped caravan. Just enough for the kids to enjoy without being too big and overwhelming Also a big outdoor pool and toddlers pool 9

We came last year and it was brilliant wow what a change a year has made this year we were told 24 hours before arrival no activities for children u til the 6 weeks holiday no mention of adult entertainment well when we got there were told there wasn’t any either we had a singer who sang for 1 hour on two nights …. Big deal . No food other than toasties which were £9.25 and jacket potatoes because something wrong in the kitchens . No tea or coffee as the machine also broken . Thank god for the pub , chip shop and the coop next door . There are a lot of permanent residents there and are very clicky and make it aware they don’t like holiday makers. They did have a pool table in the club house but you could never get on it as the residents and STAFF were always playing on it so you had no chance of getting a game again thank goodness for the pub next door . WE WILL NOT BE RETURNING ITS A SHAME AS THE LOCATION IS PERFECT

I have just returned from Winchelsea Sands, I stayed in the Gold Caravan with decking. When I arrived with my family, we noticed the decking only had 2 chairs, we are a family of 5. As the advert says "enjoy alfresco dining on the decking" this was a selling point for us, we purposely chose to add decking so we could sit outside and eat as a family. I asked 3 times for a table and 3 more chairs. I was told every time that it would be sorted. It never was. We paid for decking and couldn't actually use it for the alfresco dining as advertised. It also doesn't say we needed to bring our own furniture. As the caravan was gold standard, we'd expect the beds to be satisfactory, they aren't. They are uneven, and have rows of springs poking out. It was actually painful to sleep. All the mattresses need replacing. The kitchen wasn't equipped with the most basic items, such as a chopping board and strainer. The net curtains were ripped and the curtain rail in the living area was hanging off. These may seem insignificant but after paying for a gold caravan with decking, these things should be of a satisfactory standard. The park itself is clean and the pool is a great addition however only allowing around 27 people in the pool area means others miss out. Evening entertainment was poor, the disco night, the DJ seemed to play the music he only enjoyed which was reggae and no disco music or a variety of music. If you are planning to stay there, make sure you take your garden furniture and your kitchen utensils. A blow up bed is also needed for a good night's sleep.

Caravan is fine however the layout is awful. We were told on arrival we would need to use the car park to park our car if we couldn’t park next to our caravan. My partner is disabled so we did not expect to carry all our things for 3 trips back and forth. Turns out we do actually have a space next to us but the neighbouring caravan have parked there. They’re constantly smoking so the smell keeps coming in our caravan as the caravans are way too close together!! Staff in the bar are not the most friendly, never cracked a smile to us, you can tell they favour the regulars over any guests. You need to make it clear on the website that you need to walk with all your stuff, don’t just assume people are so able bodied that they can.
