Hoddom Castle Caravan Park

Not too friendly, and they kick me out of the park because was closed but no signs to inform. I arrived during the night, on my motorbike completely wet, put my tent under a tree and next morning I was trying to dry some clothes to leave the park and continue my trip, was raining a lot and some guy came to speak with me saying to me that I had to leave right now!? I ask him to stay a bit longer to dry my clothes but he said again, leave right now...the funniest part was this guy was with his van going around the park and looking at me to see if I was leaving. Rude and not friendly at all, I'm a really quiet person and respectful the people and the environment, I'm camping for40 years and was the first time it happened. I only wanted to say to this person to be more comprehensive and relaxed...

My parents found this site many years ago when I was 8yrs of age. I grew up during my holidays at this site venturing up by car n tent, bicycle ,car and caravan to motor homes. Never have I experienced any negativity from members of staff. I've walked the woods and villages all around here. It was once reported that and film was made here starring Will Hay called "old mother Rileys Ghost" it is also an interest with war historians due to its past history during the ww1 and ww2 eras. When I originally visited here as a child the old fountain and most of ground was overgrown. And the warden at the time said he hoped to have the fountain working soon alas that never happened though it would be nice if they got it working. As for the rider who snook in late at night. Could it not be the fact that you had either not paid or not booked which would have been why you were asked to leave. Why don't you tell the truth. . This site is the Best site in Scotland if not the United Kingdom. When I have regained my ability to walk again( spinal injury) I will be back. To re kindle fond memories of a decent childhood.

Large campsite. Well maintained site. Good short walks for dog owners just on the outskirts of the campsite. Nice 9 hole golf course. Good power hookups and drinking water filling stations all around the campsite. Only downside was the distance you had to go for emptying the cassette toilet.

Great site with plenty room. Katys Coo’s self service milk was amazing. Free crazy golf (bring your own putter and ball) games room and 9 hole golf course. Food was drink was good value in the Coach House and liked you only paid for the electricity you used, which is good for us with only being 2 adults.

Highly recommended. Staff are all lovely, site is maintained to a very high standard. One of our favourite places to stay when we head up to Scotland and as it’s so nice we tend to end our holiday trips back where we began. Walks are lovely and the golf course is great.
