2001, Swift Lifestyle 490 (Alouette L) Caravan 5 Berth with Awning

We have owned this van since 2006 and it has been very well looked after. We’ve had wonderful European holidays but now the children are grown and with barely any use over the last couple of years of lockdowns the children are now older and we’re selling it.

It’s a Swift “Lifestyle”, 5m in length, traditional family caravan, single axel, “parallel” front sofa/bed. An L shaped rear seating area (with table fixing) makes into a double bed with a pull down single bunk bed over, close off door for privacy (fantastic bedroom for children!).

Middle bathroom/changing room with cassette toilet, vanity unit, sink and shower. Open large kitchen area with full cooker/hob and grill, sink, mixer tap and large fridge/freezer, fridge is gas/electric.

Large front seating area that can be set up as 2 single beds or a large double. Sunroof, overhead lockers, radio, TV booster and roof aerial, spotlights, 2 tables, blown air heating system and gas/electric water heater. On board leisure battery.

Van will also come 2 water rolls, waste container, water pump, water connection kit, gas bottle, electrical cable, Alko stabiliser hitch and lock and separate wheel lock. Also, there is a large 7ft by 17ft double awing with ground sheet.

The caravan is in a generally very good all round condition for 20 years of age, however, over lockdowns it developed a leak that went unnoticed. This has resulted in water damage in the left front corner. There’s a photo of this. We no longer have a towing vehicle to take it to a workshop and mobile repairers are booked till July. We’ve had a rough estimate based on description and photos of £500 to £1000 to fix this, hence we’ve the reduced asking price from £4200 to £3500.
