Description of Beds: Meon sleeps up to three people; two in the fixed double bed at the rear (over the garage) which has a 190cm x 120cm memory foam mattress; and another in the 180cm x 55cm bed which converts from the two fixed seats in front of the fixed bed.

Description of Seating: The cab has 3 belted seats (including driver). Between the kitchen and double bed are two bench seats with a pull out table for dining. The heater lives in one (with some storage), the other has a large storage cupboard below, (which can house the portapotti if included in your hire). Two collapsible stools can be used inside and outside. Meon can also be provided with folding chairs and a separate table for outside living.

Description of Electrical Setup: Meon has a Victron Electrical System; 500w Victron Inverter/Charger, 100/20 Victron solar controller, 30a Victron Orion, 2 x 105ah AGM leisure batteries; 200w Solar Panel. This enables Meon to operate off-grid for several days (subject to sunshine, engine charging etc). There is also an electrical hook-up, which when used charges the leisure batteries and provides 240v power to the two sockets in the kitchen. There is also a double socket in the garage (with extension lead) run from the leisure batteries (N.B. max. 400w between them) and are sufficient for smaller items, for example charging a laptop, but not higher wattage items such as kettles or hair dryers. There are also 3 double USB sockets for phone charging and lights (4w max).

About the area: Meon lives in Stourbridge and is parked outside our house. Stourbridge, being just 15 miles west of Birmingham, is close to a wealth of Midlands attractions such as the Ironbridge Gorge and the Black Country Museums. Within 10 minutes you can reach the Shropshire countryside, the Shropshire Hills, and Long Mynd within an hour. The Cotswolds, Peak District and most of Wales are reachable in 2-3 hours, the Lake District a little longer.

Parking: Hirer's vehicles can be left in Meon's spot during hire periods. Alternatively, Stourbridge has a well served railway station with free parking.

Cooking Equipment: Meon has a fully equipped kitchen - two gas burner hob, gas grill/oven, 50 litre electric fridge and small Belfast sink with pump-operated cold water supply. Ventilation is provided by a Maxxair fan, which can extract as well as provide fresh air, and can be thermostatically controlled. The gas bottle (6kg) is filled externally with LPG from fuel stations if required. There are 2 saucepans, frying pan, baking tray, grill/oven tray, kettle, teapot, chopping board, crockery and cutlery; 4 wine glasses and tumblers, washing up bowl, detergent/sponge/teatowel, small dustpan and brush.

Water and Sanitation: Water is heated by the kettle, and cold water is pumped to the sink. There are freshwater and grey water tanks slung beneath the floor with external filling/emptying points.

Audio Equipment: The radio/CD player is located in the cab and there are sufficient USB points for hirers to plug portable speakers into if you want to bring them.

Type of Heating: Meon has an efficient diesel heater located under one of the seats, which heats up the interior very quickly.

Extra Information: Meon comes with an integral awning suitable for sunny and calm conditions which winds out from the side of the van. We can also supply an air shelter/gazebo (3m x 3m) if required, which provides extra outdoor living space. The large boot/garage also houses the electrical system, levelling chocks, outside table and chairs if required, and has enough space to store other equipment hirers may bring. A portapotti can be provided as an extra if required and this can be housed under the left hand seat.

Conversion Story: Meon was converted in early 2023 by Cladded Campers Ltd., whose work and style we had spotted and admired on the Quirky website. The natural wood interior and teal upholstery provides a feeling of space within the compact van. Solid wood worktops are complemented with the bespoke cabinets and storage cupboards. LED strip and spot lights provide different lighting moods. The fixed bed provides a huge boot/garage below and there are also storage cupboards above the cab, above the kitchen and above one end of the bed as well as below the seats.
